Understanding Moshing Slam Slam Dancing or Dancing (moshing)

Moshing is a dance typical to enjoy aggressive music genres, such as hardcore punk and heavy metal. In the 2000s, more and more kinds of moshing, such as thrashing, or more extreme Wall Of Death, and is usually performed in front of the stage area known as the moshpit or simply pit. Slam dance, can be traced back to the 1970s, punk rock show in the form of the Pogo. Slam dance during the first wave of American punk and England in 1977 was marked by stage diving, frenetic jumping, and chaotic motion. Pogo and slam dance, both a part of the punk movement at this time, and evolved into a form that is more harsh and extreme, that is moshing, as the first wave of punk died out and gave way to hardcore punk subculture that emerged in the late 1970s and early awal1980 . The first dance is identified as moshing may have originated in Orange County, California, during the first wave of American hardcore. An example of this early moshing can be seen in the documentary Urban Struggle, The Decline of Western Civilization, and American Hardcore, as well as some footage of some of the shows in that era. According to the story, Mike Marine, former U.S. Marine and star of The Decline of Western Civilization, slam dance first performed in 1979. Marine created a vicious version of punk dancing. More virulent version soon exported to San Francisco and the Bay Area punk scene, where pogoing was still prevalent form of dance.
